South Bay Neighborhood Guides

Local guides to the South Bay areas Jesse knows best: schools, beaches, food, commute and what's for sale right now.

How to choose a South Bay neighborhood

The South Bay stretches from the beach cities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach to Torrance, the Palos Verdes Peninsula and inland Hawthorne. Each guide covers the neighborhoods, school districts, beaches and parks, places Jesse likes to eat, how far you’ll be from LAX and Downtown LA, and the homes for sale there right now.

  • Want to walk to the sand? Start with Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and South Redondo.
  • Need more space for the money? Look at North Redondo, Torrance and Hawthorne.
  • Want views, trails and quiet? Explore the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
  • Commuting to LAX, El Segundo or the Westside? Holly Glen in Hawthorne and Manhattan Beach are the closest.

School districts follow city lines and sometimes split neighborhoods, so always check the district for a specific address. Jesse is happy to help.
